Since 1965, our goal at Community Action Program Committee, Inc. (CAPC) has been to empower hard-working, low-income families through numerous rewarding programs..
The success of each of our clients is our most important goal. By coordinating the beneficial programs available within CAPC, we are better able to move families toward employment and self-sustainability through early childhood and adult education, housing and safety assistance, financial tutoring, employment and community empowerment.
Eradicating poverty in our area and enabling families to become self-sufficient—our critical goals—have become more and more possible with each family’s progress and utilization of CAPC services.
In designing Individual Self-Sufficiency Plans (ISSP), CAPC assesses customers in 7 domain areas: housing, employment, education, health, childcare, transportation and nutrition. Using a matrix, we evaluate family risk levels with specific goals and objectives designed to help families move from “in crisis” to “thriving.”
In order to help families move along this continuum of care, CAPC provides coordinated case management services as well as financial support. The agency’s efforts focus on first stabilizing the family then coordinating goals that help customers acquire new vocational/educational skills to help eliminate barriers that have kept them from entering or advancing in the work force. CAPC’s case management includes a strategically aligned internal network of programmatic efforts, and the agency constantly identifies available external resources Social Service Advocates use to help move the agency’s customers toward self-sufficiency.

In addition to those groups that are focused on providing Hurricane Michael relief support, there are many community organizations that provide services year round. We encourage you to reach out them.
You can help!
Your financial contributions help feed the hungry, clothe children, aid the homeless, strengthen families, enrich communities, and offer a broad range of charitable support to those in need.
Persistent needs exist for food, clothing, and shelter. Whether you're an individual volunteer or the leader of a charitable organization, we all have gifts to share… and we can all make a difference.
